If you are going to stay 2 yrs in Canada, you might as well spend 1 more yr and become a Canadian citizen.
I actually have a similar question. I am in the exact same situation. The question is that in this case if you have an H1 stamped in your passport, is it ok to travel to US on that H1 ? or would you need a B2 tourist visa to travel ?
I am asking since technically you are employed by same employer but you are getting paid by Candian payroll not US Payroll.
Technically, your H1-B visa is invalidated the moment you stop getting paid in the US. I do know of a lot of people who managed to re-enter the US with an old stamped H1-B; but definitely not advisable. A particularly suspicious US immigration officer in canada once asked to show my latest pay stub to prove that I am still employed with the employer who sponsored my H1-B visa !!

I've done alot of debugging to try figure the problem... (.show()) isn't a method inside the openFileDialog class...?
-The main thing i'm found when debugging is that when the openFileDialog is used to do anything in my program even if i don't use any information from it it doesnt write my TEST data to a xml file or any other methods i use to write an xml file... eg.
When i run these lines in conjunction to the rest of my code
//DialogResult result = DialogAddTo.ShowDialog();
String fileNameToAdd = "E:\\blah";
//String fileNameToAdd = DialogAddTo.FileName;
Commenting out the openFileDialog and just storing a random file name then the rest of my program (eg. writing the xml file and info wanted) works however when i get the file name from the openFileDialog it doesn't let me write any Xml files even ones i have working already.
If anyone has had the same error or has knowledge please reply cheers

It's all gas gas gas... Manmohan Singh is heading one of the most corrupt & messy govt. in the history of India. All the ministers are busy looting the country and would like to make most in the remaining 3 years of their terms. $1000 is a lot for Premium Processing and VSC is profiting a lot from this. They are running a business for sure....
Its only extensions which are a long time.
USCIS is self-funded from application fees. They don't get any other funding as far as I know. So, sure they are running a business.
I know its not cheap, but atleast there is a way. I have been in this long enough to know times when it took a long time without an option of premium processing.
You can always make your employer pay for the fees.

My sister in law will come to US using H4 visa, the problem is the health insurance does not want to cover her pregnancy since the pregnancy is already 6 months.
Any idea how to get insurance for her ?
Really appreciate your help ..

* As soon as she arrives, she can be included in his insurance (most insurances allow open window throughout the year for new arrivals into the country)

This is what i think as being optimist
Even if Schedule A gets 90 k unused visa, we will be closer to our PD as all schedule A are in EB3. So if this 90 k for schedule A gets approved we will move ahead by 90 k visas.
Even better will be if they have separate category and dont include in EB3.
I think if we are not supporting them then atleast not oppose them as in any case it will be a win win situation for us and we can follow their steps if they are successful to get some solution for our EB3 retro.

In my particular case, they filed for H1B transfer in Premium Processing.... So, I was told that the H1B transfer will be adjudicated prior to the L2 petition..... Eventually, the H1B transfer got denied and I got the L2 approval notice a couple of weeks down the line.
I also believe that you can file for the L2 COS immediately after you come to know that your H1B petition has been denied. An attorney would be able to comment on whether this is legal or not.

Cheques were encashed for my and my wife's I-485, I-765, I-131 application.
I have received the receipt numbers for all from the back of the cheques.
When I access the receipt number for one of the I-765 Uscis shows the following update :
On September 19, 2007, we received this I765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION and request that we waive the filing fee. We have waived the filing fee and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when yours will be done. This case is at our NEBRASKA SERVICE CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. I will start another thread regarding that, however. I want to ask about enforcing referential integrity and self-incrementing unique id's.
